Joint problem is a very common problem specially for aged persons . It really downgrade the quality of life. Along with medications and exercises residual problem may still persist.
 In modern day research there is some indications that turmeric , a very commonly used spice,  is really helpfull to relieve the pain of your joints. 
 
In Indian context turmeric commonly used as spice to make curry, though sometimes it is applied to the skin as a paste .
Curcumin - the active ingredients present in turmeric, which give the yellow colour to the spice, reported have some anti-inflammatory properties, which make turmeric  a substance for treatment of a number of health conditions related to inflammation, including arthritis.
 
Few facts you must know about the  good effect of turmeric over joint pains.
 
Research suggests that curcumin can reduce the pain of osteoarthritis and helps to increase the mobility of joints. According to modern studies taking turmeric 3 times a day is equivalent to take 1200 mg of painkiller (Ibuprofen). Though more research is necessary to confirm the fact. Other research suggests that turmeric is useful to reduce cholesterol and triglyceride levels.
  
Recent research give some positive indications about the beneficial effect of curcumin over the treatment of Alzheimer's disease, crohn's disease, certain cancers, diabetes, depressions, joint related pains, irritable bowel syndrome, ulcerative colitis etc.
 
Facts you must know before taking turmeric.
 
You should not take turmeric more than 8 grams in a day. Though turmeric is apparently a safe chemical, but high dose for long term use may upset your process of digestion.
 
Consult your doctor before taking turmeric because it may cause harm if you have gallbladder diseases or, if you have any kind of coagulation disorder .
